Elevating European SMEs: Opportunities, Challenges, and Coordinated Support

The European Business Association in Los Angeles convened EU Member State economic attachés, European chambers of commerce, representatives of the private sector, and key local ecosystem partners for a focused roundtable discussion on how to better support European SMEs entering the U.S. market.

The discussion highlighted Los Angeles as a strategic global entry point, addressed the on-the-ground realities faced by European companies, and explored ways to strengthen coordination between national support programs, chambers, private-sector stakeholders, and local institutions. A shared priority emerged: moving toward more structured, practical, and collective approaches that help European companies succeed as local players in the United States.

The outcomes of this exchange will directly feed into the establishment of EBA LA working groups and the preparation of a joint position paper, ensuring continued dialogue and concrete follow-up at both local and European levels.

Thank you to our hosts – Rosewalk Consulting, Latvian American Chamber of Commerce SoCal, and Yepremyan Law Firm – and to the Office of Mayor Karen Bass, represented by Christine Peterson, as well as LAEDC, including William Powles and Mevan Randeniya, for their valuable contributions and support.

We also thank all EU Member State economic attachés, chambers of commerce, private-sector representatives, and partners for their active engagement and collaboration.
